FEDERAL K-12 EDUCATION POLICIES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN FOSTER CARE
POLICY SPOTLIGHT:
Public education is a cornerstone of opportunity in the United States, providing children and youth with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to thrive in adulthood. The majority of the nearly 400,000 children in foster care today are school age, and, unfortunately, many struggle in school, given instability and disruptions in their education before and during foster care.
