Youth in foster care face a steep climb on their path to adulthood—a journey that demands support, opportunity, and persistent advocacy. This understanding fuels the work of advocates across the country and lies at the heart of Journey to Success, a campaign focused on advancing policies that uplift and empower young people with lived experience in foster care.

Earlier this year, the campaign released “Celebrating an Advocacy Movement: Policy Milestones Achieved by Youth and Young Adults with Foster Care Experience.” This Milestone Report is a powerful reflection on the youth-driven advocacy movement and a celebration of 25 years of historic policy wins.

Today, we’re excited to share that the report is now available online through a new, easy-to-navigate web page and a practical advocacy toolkit. The toolkit is designed to help advocates promote their own policy wins featured in the report, share the report with partners, and spark ideas for future action! The policy victories highlighted in the Milestone Report offer both a record of hard-won progress and inspiration for what’s possible when young people lead the way.
